HCP Inc. executive chairman to step down

HCP Inc. Executive Chairman Mike McKee is retiring, effective March 1, and will be replaced by lead independent director Dave Henry, who will serve as nonexecutive chairman.

McKee will also leave the board of directors at HCP's annual meeting April 26, and until then he will work with the healthcare real estate investment trust in a consulting capacity. Henry served as the vice chairman and CEO of Kimco Realty Corp. from 2009 to 2016.

McKee has been executive chairman of the company since May 2016. He also served as interim president and CEO from July 2016 to December 2016 and has been on the board since 1989.
