Zafgen Inc. added Wendy Everett to its board.
Everett currently serves as special adviser to Network for Excellence in Health Innovation, a Boston-based nonprofit nonpartisan research and policy organization. She was also formerly the organization's CEO and president.
Additionally, the company announced the retirement of Bruce Booth and Frances Heller from the board.
Zafgen said Heller's and Booth's departures were not due to any disagreement with the company on any matters relating to its operations, policies or practices.
Boston-based Zafgen develops therapies to treat metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes and Prader-Willi syndrome, a genetic disorder caused by the loss of function of specific genes.
