Daily natural gas production in Texas increased in June, while oil output stayed flat, the state Railroad Commission reported Sept. 4.
Texas drillers produced 696.93 Bcf of gas in June, or an average of 23.23 Bcf/d, according to preliminary production reports. The daily average in June exceeded May's preliminary average of 22.73 Bcf/d and June 2018's average of 20.51 Bcf/d.
The oil and gas regulator reported oil production of 97.5 million barrels on a preliminary basis, or an average of 3.3 million barrels per day, in June. The daily average remained flat from the preceding month's average but surpassed the year-ago period's number of 3.0 million bbl/d.
For the month, Reeves County took back its spot as the top gas producer in Texas in June, with a preliminary reading of 61.38 Bcf. Webb County produced 52.21 Bcf, ranking second.
Midland County continued to lead in June oil production, with a preliminary total of 11.7 million barrels. Karnes County produced the second-largest amount at 7.9 million barrels.
