BNY Mellon offering senior notes due 2024

Bank of New York Mellon Corp. is offering an undisclosed amount of its 2.100% senior medium-term notes, series J, due Oct. 24, 2024.

The notes are a further issuance of and are fungible with $750 million of the company's 2.100% senior notes due 2024 issued on Oct. 24, 2019. Accrued interest on the reopened notes from Oct. 24, 2019, to but excluding the date of delivery must be paid by the purchaser.

The original notes were issued at a price to the public of 99.825% per note, or about $748.7 million in total, with an underwriting discount of 0.150% per note, or about $1.1 million in total, yielding proceeds, before expenses, to the company of 99.675% per note, or roughly $747.6 million in total.

Interest payments will be made semiannually on April 24 and Oct. 24 of each year, starting April 24.

Barclays Capital Inc., Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, RBC Capital Markets LLC and BNY Mellon Capital Markets LLC are the agents for the offering.
