German flash HICP inflation slides to 1.4%

German 12-month harmonized consumer price inflation fell to 1.4% in May from 2% in April, according to a flash estimate from the Federal Statistical Office on May 30.

Harmonized inflation is calculated according to European-approved methodology.

Nonharmonized CPI fell to 1.5% in May from 2% in April, the office said. In month-over-month terms, prices fell by 0.2%.
