Centrica inks contracts for 315 MW of wind capacity in Italy

Centrica PLC inked long-term power purchase agreements for trading and balancing of 315 MW of wind energy in Southern Italy and Sicily with U.K.-based asset manager Glennmont Partners.

The capacity will be generated from 13 land-based wind facilities, Centrica said in a news release Dec. 14, adding that the agreements reflect Centrica's route-to-market business in Italy.

"We want to be present in all major European markets for renewables, providing our customers with multi-geographical optimisation and leveraging our expertise of managing power purchase arrangements," Centrica Energy Marketing & Trading Co-Managing Director Cassim Mangerah said in the news release.
