Yaizu Suisankagaku Industry Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 was ¥13.96 per share, a gain of 33.5% from ¥10.46 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥180.0 million, a gain of 28.0% from ¥140.6 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 3.8% from 2.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased 9.2% on an annual basis to ¥4.78 billion from ¥5.26 billion, and total operating expenses decreased 10.4% on an annual basis to ¥4.52 billion from ¥5.04 billion.
Reported net income rose 39.2% from the prior-year period to ¥181.0 million, or ¥14.04 per share, from ¥130.0 million, or ¥9.67 per share.
As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.46.
