National American University Holdings Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Feb. 28 came to 6 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 5 cents per share.
EPS rose 31.3% year over year from 5 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $1.5 million, a gain of 31.7% from $1.1 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 5.1% from 3.6% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased 8.2% on an annual basis to $29.1 million from $31.7 million, and total operating expenses declined 11.0% on an annual basis to $26.5 million from $29.8 million.
Reported net income increased 50.5% from the prior-year period to $1.5 million, or 6 cents per share, from $1.0 million, or 4 cents per share.
