Amazon India partners with Cleartrip to launch flight booking service Inc.'s Indian arm has partnered with Cleartrip Pvt. Ltd. to start offering domestic flight booking services in the country through Amazon's existing e-commerce app and website, Indo-Asian News Service reported May 20, citing a company statement.

Amazon already offers shopping, money transfers, utility bill payments and mobile recharging services in India. The new flight booking option can be found on the Amazon mobile app and website's Amazon Pay page, according to the report.

In its e-commerce site, Amazon India said it will not charge extra cancellation penalties for booked transactions.

To mark the launch of the service, the company is offering cashbacks of up to 2,000 Indian rupees to Prime customers who will book tickets worth 20,000 rupees and above from May 17 to May 31, while non-Prime members will receive a cashback of 1,600 rupees for the same booking value. The cashback will be credited as Amazon Pay balance, the company said.

As of May 20, US$1 was equivalent to 69.70 Indian rupees.
