St. Modwen Properties Plc inked a long-term partnership with landowners of a 227-acre site in Wantage, England, to develop a mixed-use housing scheme over the next 10 to 15 years.
The company plans to head the development and deliver infrastructure for up to half of the 1,500 new homes through its house building arm, St. Modwen Homes. The construction of the remaining plots will be awarded in tranches and sold to other house builders.
A detailed planning application for the first phase of housing comprising 150 homes at Crab Hill has been submitted by the company, according to Group Residential Director Guy Gusterson.
In addition, the masterplan featuring extensive community and educational facilities promises to contribute to the Wantage bypass. The plan designed by Edinburgh-based architect, Open, obtained outline planning permission July 2015 by the Vale of the White Horse District Council.
