Intrum reveals interest from more European Banks after Intesa Sanpaolo NPL deal

Intrum AB (publ) said its partnership with Intesa Sanpaolo SpA has attracted interest from other European banks, Bloomberg News reported Sept. 10.

"We've had many discussions with interested bank leaders that have wanted to learn more about the structure in the Intesa deal," Intrum CEO Mikael Ericson said.

The partnership involves the establishment of a joint-venture servicer of nonperforming loans and the disposal of €10.8 billion of the Italian lender's NPLs. The venture is 51% owned by the Swedish debt collection firm.
