Report: Alaskan regulators to probe BP's Prudhoe Bay wells after leak

Alaskan regulators are set to investigate oil major BP PLC's oil and natural gas wells in the Prudhoe Bay oil field following a leak from a well, according to a Jan. 14 report from Reuters.

The well, which allegedly released natural gas and about two gallons of crude oil last month, was shut in 2017 due to a much bigger oil and gas leak.

The Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission has set a hearing for Feb. 7 to assess the mechanical integrity of Prudhoe Bay wells operated by BP unit BP Exploration (Alaska), Inc.
