Pak Datacom fiscal Q2 profit falls YOY

Pak Datacom Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, was 1.38 Pakistani rupees per share, a decrease of 41.4% from 2.36 rupees per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 13.6 million rupees, a decline of 41.4% from 23.2 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 8.0% from 13.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined year over year to 169.7 million rupees from 174.0 million rupees, and total operating expenses rose 9.8% from the prior-year period to 158.5 million rupees from 144.4 million rupees.

Reported net income fell 39.6% from the prior-year period to 14.7 million rupees, or 1.50 rupees per share, from 24.3 million rupees, or 2.48 rupees per share.

As of Feb. 22, US$1 was equivalent to 104.80 Pakistani rupees.
