McDonald's Corp. said March 25 that it has agreed to acquire personalization and decision logic technology company Dynamic Yield Ltd. for an undisclosed amount.
The Illinois-based fast-food giant said it plans to use Dynamic Yield's decision technology to "personalize" customer service at its drive-thru points, self-order kiosks and on McDonald's Global Mobile App.
"With this acquisition, we're expanding both our ability to increase the role technology and data will play in our future and the speed with which we'll be able to implement our vision of creating more personalized experiences for our customers," said McDonald's President and CEO Steve Easterbrook.
Upon closure of the transaction, McDonald's will become Dynamic Yield's sole owner and will continue to invest in the company's core personalization product and teams. Dynamic Yield will remain a stand-alone company.
