Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. made a $6 million investment in Israeli augmented reality lens maker Lumus, Deal Street Asia reported Jan. 20.
Founded by Yaakov Amitai in 2000, the startup supplies lenses for the business-to-business AR market, producing optical engines that are used in AR glasses and headsets.
The investment reportedly is in line with the Chinese e-commerce giant's focus on technologies that could factor into online shopping in the future.
