Central Plaza Hotel profit misses consensus by 31.0% in Q4

Central Plaza Hotel Public Company Ltd said its fourth-quarter normalized net income came to 21 satang per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 31 satang per share.

EPS rose 12.9% year over year from 19 satang.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 284.0 million baht, a gain of 12.9% from 251.5 million baht in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 5.8% from 5.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue decreased year over year to 4.93 billion baht from 5.01 billion baht, and total operating expenses totaled 4.34 billion baht, compared with 4.37 billion baht in the year-earlier period.

Reported net income grew 43.5% on an annual basis to 415.9 million baht, or 31 satang per share, from 289.9 million baht, or 21 satang per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 1.02 baht per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of 1.37 baht.

EPS rose 7.5% from 95 satang in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 1.37 billion baht, an increase of 7.5% from 1.28 billion baht in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue grew on an annual basis to 19.86 billion baht from 19.25 billion baht, and total operating expenses rose on an annual basis to 17.25 billion baht from 16.61 billion baht.

The company said reported net income increased 11.2% year over year to 1.85 billion baht, or 1.37 baht per share, in the full year, from 1.66 billion baht, or 1.23 baht per share.

As of Feb. 28, US$1 was equivalent to 34.86 baht.
