Target Corp. is expanding its delivery and pickup options across the midwest and southeast areas in the U.S. as part of its plan to offer the services to more states.
The Minneapolis-based retailer on June 7 launched its Shipt same-day delivery service in Chicago as part of its expansion into six midwest states. The company said it is on track to make Shipt available from the majority of stores in over 40 states by the holiday season, to reach a total of 65% of U.S. households. It also plans to offer same-day delivery to all major product categories at Target in 2019.
Target this week also expanded Drive Up, a service that lets customers place orders on the Target app and have them delivered to their cars. The service became available in midwest markets, including Des Moines, Iowa; Kansas City, Mo.; Madison, Wis.; and Omaha, Neb., and in southeast markets, including Raleigh, N.C.; Nashville, Tenn.; and Columbia, S.C. Drive Up is expected to roll out in Chicago in July.
Meanwhile, the company said Target Restock, a next-day delivery service of household essentials, is now being offered to about 75% of the population, following the national expansion it announced in May.
Target's from-store delivery, which allows in-store shoppers have orders delivered the same day, is now available in almost 60 stores in Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Washington D.C., according to the release.
The retailer said Chicago will be the first city to have all four of its delivery and pickup services.
