Investment firm Ridgewood acquires Texas gas utility SiEnergy

Ridgewood Cos. subsidiary Ridgewood Infrastructure LLC has acquired SiEnergy LP, a local natural gas distributor operating in Texas.

The utility serves approximately 25,000 customers in the Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin metropolitan areas, according to a Sept. 30 news release.

"SiEnergy has more than doubled its customer base over the last several years, and it has consistently delivered safe, clean, reliable and affordable natural gas," Ridgewood Infrastructure Partner Michael Albrecht said.

Ridgewood Infrastructure has assets in utilities and other infrastructure in the U.S. lower-middle market. The company's other investments include the Vista Ridge regional water supply project, a 142-mile water pipeline expected to supply fresh water to San Antonio.
