HDI Seguros forced to close branches as employees strike

Chile-based HDI Seguros SA closed at least five of its offices as company employees launched a strike that could last weeks.

HDI Seguros said the striking group is assembling about 43% of the workers, with the strike possibly lasting until Sept. 24. The company noted that it was taking legal measures to minimize the strike's impact.

The employees started the strike on Sept. 7 after rejecting a negotiation proposal from the company, according to Diario Financiero.
