Dufry profit misses consensus by 57.6% in Q3

Dufry AG said its third-quarter normalized net income amounted to CHF1.02 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of CHF2.41 per share.

EPS climbed 52.7% year over year from 67 centimes.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was CHF54.8 million, a gain of 52.7% from CHF35.9 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 2.4% from 1.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 14.1% year over year to CHF2.27 billion from CHF1.99 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 13.8% from the prior-year period to CHF2.11 billion from CHF1.85 billion.

Reported net income totaled CHF75.2 million, or CHF1.40 per share, compared to a loss of CHF12.3 million, or a loss of 23 centimes per share, in the prior-year period.
