HMS Holdings acquires data analytics company VitreosHealth for $36.5M

HMS Holdings Corp. acquired privately held healthcare technology company VitreosHealth Inc. for about $36.5 million in cash.

Texas-based VitreosHealth provides health data analytics for predictive risk and prescriptive care management.

Irving, Texas-based healthcare technology company HMS said VitreosHealth has been a strategic partner for the company, providing a predictive analytics engine for its Elli platform, which provides analyses to help identify risk and facilitate better care management programs.

HMS Chairman and CEO Bill Lucia said the company expects VitreosHealth's prescriptive health insights will add to its Population Health Management suite to better predict, identify and avoid preventable high-cost events.
