Gazprom announces 2 new gas fields on Russia's Yamal shelf

Russian integrated oil and gas company PJSC Gazprom announced May 17 that it discovered two new gas fields in Russia's Yamal shelf that are estimated to contain roughly 500 billion cubic meters of gas.

Estimates for the two fields, called Dinkov and Nyarmeyskoye, from the State Reserves Commission were approved by Russia's Federal Agency for Mineral Resources.

The Dinkov field, located in the Rusanovsky block in the Kara Sea, is said to contain 390.7 billion cubic meters of gas in the C1+C2, or explored and estimated, categories.

The Nyarmeyskoye field, located in the Nyarmeysky block in the Kara Sea, has projected recoverable resources of 120.8 billion cubic meters of gas in the C1+C2 categories.
