OMRON Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 amounted to ¥61.86 per share, a gain of 28.6% from ¥48.12 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥13.45 billion, an increase of 27.0% from ¥10.59 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 5.8% from 4.8% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 5.6% on an annual basis to ¥232.98 billion from ¥220.57 billion, and total operating expenses increased on an annual basis to ¥209.39 billion from ¥200.86 billion.
Reported net income rose 5.2% year over year to ¥12.87 billion, or ¥59.19 per share, from ¥12.24 billion, or ¥55.60 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥257.72 per share, compared to EPS of ¥188.31 in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥56.44 billion, a gain from ¥41.45 billion in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue increased from the prior-year period to ¥847.25 billion from ¥772.97 billion, and total operating expenses rose on an annual basis to ¥760.66 billion from ¥704.91 billion.
The company said reported net income increased on an annual basis to ¥62.17 billion, or ¥283.89 per share, in the full year, from ¥46.19 billion, or ¥209.82 per share.
