Enel X has won roughly 157 MW of demand response capacity for 2019 in Italy, as part of the country's new national dispatching project promoted by grid operator Terna.
The Enel SpA subsidiary received the award at a price of about €30,000/MW per year in an auction for nearly 350 MW of capacity. Enel X will provide its customers balancing orders in real time to stabilize the network on the basis of availability to perform the service, according to a news release.
Of the total, 332.8 MW were made available in the north/centre-north area and 17.1 MW in the centre/south, south and islands.
With this award, Enel X now manages more than 6,000 MW of demand response capacity globally, including in North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania.
