Beacon Lighting fiscal H1 profit climbs 23.6% YOY

Beacon Lighting Group Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first half ended Dec. 27, 2015, came to 5 Australian cents per share, an increase of 23.5% from 4 cents per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was A$9.9 million, an increase of 23.6% from A$8.0 million in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 8.0% year over year to A$100.2 million from A$92.8 million, and total operating expenses increased 5.7% from the prior-year period to A$84.0 million from A$79.5 million.

Reported net income grew 22.1% from the prior-year period to A$11.1 million, or 5 cents per share, from A$9.1 million, or 4 cents per share.
