U.K.-based insurer Advent Capital (Holdings) Ltd. appointed William Beveridge as CEO of its Advent Underwriting Ltd. unit.

Beveridge, who joined the group in July 2013, will continue to serve as group chief underwriting officer. For his new role in the unit, he replaces Nigel Fitzgerald, who retains his group CEO post.

Canada-based Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. is the ultimate parent of both firms.
