U.K.-based Chesnara PLC appointed Mark Hesketh an independent nonexecutive director, effective Dec. 17.

Previously, Hesketh held senior roles in Standard Life Aberdeen PLC and Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC.

Previously, he was CEO of broking for the company.

Michael Curtius will resign as a director of Mercury General Corp., effective Jan. 1, 2019. He is a former president and COO of the company and had served on its board since 1996.

U.K.-based BMS Group Ltd. expanded its Bermuda operation with the addition of George Bowring and Kian Wookey.

Bowring will focus on North American liability and joins BMS from Price Forbes, where he was a casualty producer and placing broker for the Bermudian market. Wookey will handle North American property and was previously at Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group PLC, where he most recently was head of property at JLT Bermuda.

Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Co. appointed Amy Goughnour to the company's board, Insurance Journal reported.

Goughnour is mutual manager for Steele Traill County Mutual Insurance Co. She will serve the remaining term through June 2019 of Stephen Smith, who is retiring Dec. 20.
