Buffalo fiscal Q3 profit climbs 8.7% YOY

Buffalo Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, was ¥71.85 per share, a gain from ¥22.18 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥148.1 million, a gain of 8.7% from ¥136.3 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 5.4% from 5.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 9.5% year over year to ¥2.75 billion from ¥2.51 billion, and total operating expenses rose 9.4% from the prior-year period to ¥2.53 billion from ¥2.31 billion.

Reported net income rose 15.2% year over year to ¥152.0 million, or ¥73.73 per share, from ¥132.0 million, or ¥21.49 per share.
