SECOM fiscal Q2 profit falls YOY

Secom Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 was ¥77.73 per share, a decrease of 11.4% from ¥87.76 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥16.96 billion, a decline of 11.4% from ¥19.15 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 8.1% from 9.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed year over year to ¥210.69 billion from ¥203.17 billion, and total operating expenses rose year over year to ¥181.16 billion from ¥173.30 billion.

Reported net income increased 6.9% year over year to ¥19.53 billion, or ¥89.47 per share, from ¥18.26 billion, or ¥83.68 per share.

As of Nov. 13, US$1 was equivalent to ¥122.78.
