Innogy names new chairman, CEO

Innogy SE announced Oct. 10 that its supervisory board has elected E.ON SE CEO Johannes Teyssen to be chairman.

Teyssen replaces Erhard Schipporeit, who stepped down along with other shareholder representatives following innogy's takeover by E.ON., according to an Oct. 10 news release.

Innogy also disclosed Uwe Tigges, Hans Bünting, Arno Hahn, Martin Herrmann and Hildegard Müller left the executive board by mutual agreement.

Innogy also announced the appointment of Leonhard Birnbaum as CEO. Birnbaum, who succeeds Tigges, will also assume responsibility for the company's grid and retail business and remain a member of the E.ON board of management.

Additionally, the innogy supervisory board appointed Christoph Radke, previously the vice president for corporate and governance and CEO of various group companies at E.ON, as a member of the executive board.
