Matsumotokiyoshi Holdings fiscal Q2 profit falls YOY

Matsumotokiyoshi Holdings Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 was ¥26.40 per share, a decrease from ¥27.63 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥2.85 billion, a decline of 6.0% from ¥3.03 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 2.3% from 2.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased year over year to ¥122.86 billion from ¥119.92 billion, and total operating expenses increased from the prior-year period to ¥118.88 billion from ¥115.61 billion.

Reported net income decreased 5.1% from the prior-year period to ¥2.59 billion, or ¥24.02 per share, from ¥2.73 billion, or ¥24.90 per share.
