Lux Industries fiscal Q2 profit falls YOY

Lux Industries Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 amounted to 3.45 Indian rupees per share, a decrease of 10.6% from 3.86 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 87.1 million rupees, a decrease of 10.6% from 97.4 million rupees in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 3.5% from 3.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue decreased 9.4% on an annual basis to 2.50 billion rupees from 2.76 billion rupees, and total operating expenses decreased 9.6% on an annual basis to 2.31 billion rupees from 2.56 billion rupees.

Reported net income fell 11.5% year over year to 92.6 million rupees, or 3.67 rupees per share, from 104.6 million rupees, or 4.14 rupees per share.

As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to 61.73 Indian rupees.
