Nissan's US sales drop 4.3% in February

Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. reported a 4.3% year-over-year decrease in U.S. sales for February.

The auto manufacturer sold 129,930 units during the month, down from 135,740 units in February 2017. The totals include both Nissan division and Infiniti sales. Nissan sales fell 4% to 117,110 units from 122,003 units. Infiniti sales declined 6.7% to 12,820 units, from 13,737 units.

Total car sales dipped 15.1% with 55,009 units sold. Total truck sales were up 5.6% with 74,921 units sold.

Nissan Cars posted a 17.2% sales decline in February with 49,800 units sold. Only Sentra sales grew, by 7.1%. Versa, Altima and Maxima, among others, had lower sales.

Sales of Nissan trucks, however, grew by 8.8% at 67,310 units. Rogue posted a 15% sales increase with 38,119 units sold.

Infiniti car sales grew 11.6% at 5,209 units while truck sales declined 16.1% with sales of 7,611 units. QX30 sales fell a sharp 67.9% while QX70 sales dipped 85.1%. QX60 sales, though, increased 46.0% during the month.
