Mizuho strengthens EMEA operations; LumX loses group general counsel

S&P Global Market Intelligence presents a daily roundup of management and board changes at financial institutions in Europe. This feature excludes C-level leadership changes and previously reported stories.

Mizuho Financial Group

* Mizuho Financial Group Inc. hired seven executives for its operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Financial News reported.

The Japanese lender appointed Ed Brunni and Steve Munday to its high-yield trading team. Brunni will join from HSBC Holdings PLC and Munday from Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Chris Nias was appointed to Mizuho's European securitized trading team and Johnny Vivas a trader on its sovereigns, supranationals and agencies desk. Nias is Barclays PLC's former co-head of asset-backed securities trading and Vivas is rejoining the Japanese lender from Deutsche Bank AG.

Tristan Lagarrigue, Russell Feldman and Jack Czarnota were appointed to Mizuho's EMEA sales division. Lagarrigue was head of credit flow sales at Crédit Agricole SA, while Feldman and Czarnota were most recently serving at NatWest Markets PLC and Jefferies Financial Group Inc., respectively.

LumX

* LumX Group Ltd. said its group general counsel, Sonia Bhasin, will leave the company at the beginning of 2020. Bhasin, who first joined LumX in 2016, is one of only four executive committee members at the Swiss investment firm, Financial News reported.
