Netflix Inc. opened headquarters in Paris as part of its efforts to increase investment in France.
The streaming service plans to invest in more than 20 French productions this year, according to a company press release. Since its launch in the country in 2014, Netflix has developed around 24 French films, series and documentaries, among other content.
Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said the streaming platform reached 6.7 million subscribers in France, Advanced Television reports, citing L'Express.
The CEO also said Netflix is to invest €100 million this year in French productions.
