The National Credit Union Administration has granted a federal charter to Community HOPE Federal Credit Union, the regulator announced June 12.
Lincoln, Nebraska-based Community HOPE will be able to serve around 40,000 residents who live, work, worship or attend school in Lincoln's downtown.
The NCUA also granted the credit union share insurance fund coverage and a low-income designation, making it eligible for certain benefits, including grants and low-interest loans as well as an exemption from the member-business lending loan limit.
Los Angeles-based Firefighters First Federal Credit Union was granted a federal charter by the NCUA in April.
