Walgreens asks customers not to openly carry firearms in stores

Pharmacy chain Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. will ask its customers to no longer openly carry firearms at its stores.

"We are joining other retailers in asking our customers to no longer openly carry firearms into our stores other than authorized law enforcement officials," Walgreens said.

The Illinois-based company changed its firearm policy a few days after Walmart Inc. and Kroger Co. asked their customers to stop taking firearms to their premises. Walmart is also discontinuing selling ammunition for handguns and some assault-style rifles.
