Casino operator Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd. on May 15 announced that it would provide 10 weeks' paid maternity leave in Macau compared with the statutory period of eight weeks.
The announcement was made as part of the company's seventh-anniversary celebrations.
The new policy comes into effect immediately, Galaxy Entertainment said in a statement. It is available to women who have been employed by the company for at least one year and who give birth on or after May 15.
It follows the introduction of a five-day paid paternity leave for male employees.
