Fitch upgrades short-term ratings of Airbus, ABB

Fitch Ratings upgraded Airbus SE's and ABB Ltd.'s short-term issuer default ratings to F1 from F2 as a result of the agency's updated short-term rating criteria.

The rating agency said the upgrades reflect both companies' robust financial flexibility and financial structures and an adequate operating environment. Fitch assigns F1 or F2 short-term ratings to companies with A- long-term ratings based on their liquidity profile.

Airbus' A- long-term issuer rating, with a stable outlook, was not affected by the criteria update. ABB's long-term rating A-, which is under Rating Watch Positive, remained unchanged.

Fitch also upgraded Airbus Finance BV's short-term issuer default ratings to F1 from F2.
