The Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities grantedFitchburg Gas and Electric LightCo. a $1.6 million increase in its gas and $2.1 million increase inits electric rates. The regulator also authorized a 9.80% ROE, according to aForm 8-K filed May 4.
The electric rate represents a 3.2% increase over thedivision's total operating revenue in 2014 while the gas rate represents a 4.6%increase. The UnitilCorp. subsidiary had used a calendar test year of Jan. 1, 2014,through Dec. 31, 2014, for its requests.
Fitchburg Gas and Electric, which does business as Unitil,was originally seeking a $3.0 million increase in its gas and $3.8 millionincrease in its electric rates based on a 10.25% ROE. (Docket No. DPU 15-80and DPU15-81)
