Nissan US sales decline 17.6% YOY in September

Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. on Oct. 1 posted a 17.6% year-over-year decline in U.S. auto sales for September.

The Japanese automaker sold a total of 101,244 units during the month, compared with 122,819 units in the year-ago period.

Nissan group total car sales in September dropped 5% to 38,052 units from 40,069 units sold in the same month 2018. Nissan group total truck sales declined 23.6% year over year to 63,192 vehicles.

Sales of the company's Leaf electric vehicles came in at 1,048 vehicles, down 32.9% year over year.

In August, Nissan's U.S. sales climbed13.2% year over year.
