Natural Resource Partners books lower Q2 net income

Natural Resource Partners LP on Aug. 8 reported net income from continuing operations of $19.1 million, or 85 cents per diluted unit, in the 2019 second quarter, compared with $35.1 million, or $1.57 per diluted unit, in the same quarter a year earlier.

Adjusted EBITDA grew year over year to $62.8 million from $53.1 million in the prior-year period. Total revenues and other income were $81.5 million, compared with $69.6 million a year earlier.

The company's coal sales volume totaled 7.0 million tons in the most recent quarter, roughly the same amount as the year-ago quarter. Coal royalty revenue was $4.46 per ton, compared with $4.95 per ton in the second quarter a year earlier.
