Hancock Holding shareholders approve name change

Shareholders of Hancock Holding Co. on May 24 approved the proposal to change the Gulfport, Miss.-based company's name to Hancock Whitney Corp.

In line with the name change, the company's ticker symbol on the Nasdaq Global Select Market will change to HWC from HBHC, while its ticker symbol for exchange-traded debt will change to HWCPL from HBHCL.

Other name changes include Whitney Bank, the company's banking subsidiary, becoming Hancock Whitney Bank and Hancock Investment Services Inc. becoming Hancock Whitney Investment Services Inc.

All changes are effective May 25.
