Alberta credit unions Connect First, Mountain View considering merger

In Alberta, Calgary-based Connect First Credit Union Ltd. and Olds-based Mountain View Credit Union are exploring a possible merger.

Mountain View CU has more than 17,500 members and $852 million in assets under administration. Connect First CU has 104,000 members and over $5.8 billion in assets under administration.

The combined entity will have over 120,000 members, 44 locations across central and southern Alberta and have around $6.7 billion in assets under management. It will operate under the legal name of Connect First CU, with member facing brands Chinook Financial, First Calgary Financial, Legacy Financial and Mountain View Financial.
