BlueRock Energy to offer retail services in New Jersey

Bluerock Energy Inc. will begin offering natural gas and electricity retail services in New Jersey, effective Feb. 6.

The company has signed agreements with local utilities, including FirstEnergy Corp. subsidiary Jersey Central Power & Light Co., Public Service Enterprise Group Inc. subsidiary Public Service Electric and Gas Co., New Jersey Resources Corp. subsidiary New Jersey Natural Gas Co. and South Jersey Industries Inc. subsidiary South Jersey Gas Co., to license and deliver natural gas and electricity to customers at competitive rates with a choice of both fixed and variable pricing.

BlueRock provides services in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Connecticut. "Right now, we serve more than 19,000 customers and expect that number to rapidly grow with our expansion into New Jersey," BlueRock Energy CEO Phil Van Horne said in a Feb. 2 statement.

As part of the expansion, the company is looking to add more energy advisors in New Jersey and expects to complete the process by summer.
