Dream International H1 profit climbs 66.7% YOY

Dream International Ltd. said its first-half normalized net income amounted to 10 Hong Kong cents per share, a gain of 66.7% from 6 cents per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was HK$67.8 million, a gain of 66.7% from HK$40.7 million in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 19.1% year over year to HK$899.6 million from HK$755.6 million, and total operating expenses climbed 14.6% year over year to HK$792.6 million from HK$691.4 million.

Reported net income rose 84.7% from the prior-year period to HK$83.1 million, or 12 cents per share, from HK$45.0 million, or 7 cents per share.
