Hi-Lex fiscal Q4 profit falls YOY

4911244 said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended Oct. 31, 2016, amounted to ¥34.53 per share, a decrease of 43.9% from ¥61.53 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.31 billion, a decrease of 43.9% from ¥2.34 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 2.5% from 4.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined 10.7% year over year to ¥52.47 billion from ¥58.78 billion, and total operating expenses decreased 10.1% from the prior-year period to ¥49.93 billion from ¥55.55 billion.

Reported net income fell 40.6% from the prior-year period to ¥1.73 billion, or ¥45.40 per share, from ¥2.91 billion, or ¥76.48 per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥234.78 per share, a decline of 22.9% from ¥304.35 per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was ¥8.94 billion, a fall of 22.8% from ¥11.59 billion in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue decreased from the prior-year period to ¥235.71 billion from ¥239.13 billion, and total operating expenses declined on an annual basis to ¥218.83 billion from ¥221.75 billion.
