PT Antam (Persero) Tbk. said Jan. 29 that it produced an all-time high of 21,762 tonnes of nickel contained in ferronickel in full-year 2017, up 7% compared to the previous year.
Sales also reached a new record of 21,813 tonnes of nickel contained in ferronickel, an increase of 4% on a yearly basis.
Total nickel ore production soared 241% year over year to about 5.57 million wet tonnes in 2017, with sales rising 285% to 2.83 million wmt. The company's bauxite production also jumped 192% on an annual basis to 705,322 wmt, while sales rose 181% to 838,069 wmt on a yearly basis.
Gold and silver production, however, fell year over year to 63,240 ounces and 456,251 ounces, respectively, compared to year-ago gold and silver output of 70,957 ounces and 508,561 ounces, respectively. Full-year gold sales, meanwhile, rose to 424,454 ounces from 328,806 ounces, while silver sales declined to 533,316 ounces from 587,941 ounces.
The group's net sales in 2017 reached 12.55 trillion Indonesian rupiah, reflecting a 38% year-over-year growth.
