China’s Bitmain Technologies Ltd. said in a March 26 blog post that its IPO application to the Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Ltd. will expire in March.
The Beijing-based cryptocurrency miner and artificial intelligence chip designer filed the IPO application in September 2018, and said it will "restart the listing application work at an appropriate time in the future."
Bitmain Technologies has also appointed chipmaking veteran Haichao Wang CEO of the company, and said its co-founders Micree Zhan and Jihan Wu will continue to be directors and guide Bitmain's growth strategies.
The company has signed AI cooperation agreements with a Chinese municipal government, China Mobile Hangzhou Research and Development Center, and China Unicom Network Technology Research Institute.
