Matsumotokiyoshi Holdings fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Matsumotokiyoshi Holdings Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to ¥34.32 per share, a decline of 10.5% from ¥38.34 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥3.68 billion, a decrease of 11.7% from ¥4.17 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 2.9% from 3.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed on an annual basis to ¥127.91 billion from ¥124.34 billion, and total operating expenses increased year over year to ¥122.62 billion from ¥118.19 billion.

Reported net income fell 11.6% on an annual basis to ¥3.42 billion, or ¥31.86 per share, from ¥3.87 billion, or ¥35.54 per share.

As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.68.
